Welcome to Almaty and experience the vibrant cultural and culinary capital of Kazakhstan. You will be transferred from the airport to a 5/4 star hotel or similar.
Almaty is Kazakhstan’s largest city and former capital, nestled at the foot of the majestic Trans-Ili Alatau mountains. A vibrant cultural and economic hub, it’s known for leafy streets, chic cafes, and a stunning natural backdrop.
After the check-in at the hotel, you will have the opportunity to have breakfast before we start our city tour. Guided tour of the museums and exhibitions will showcase the historical significance of the city to the country. We will have lunch at a restaurant, where we will enjoy traditional Kazakh cuisine in a very cozy setting. Thereafter, we will explore the Panfilov park, Zenkov cathedral and Green Bazaar. In the evening, we will have reservations at a restaurant, where guests will enjoy the special welcome dinner.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to Shymbulak, the largest ski-resort in Central Asia and perfect scenic getaway from the bustling Almaty.
Shymbulak is Kazakhstan’s premier ski resort, located just 25 km from Almaty in the scenic Trans-Ili Alatau mountains. Sitting at 2,260 meters above sea level, it offers stunning alpine views, modern lifts, and slopes for all skill levels. Open year-round, Shymbulak is popular for winter sports, summer hiking, and high-altitude dining.
When check-ins are completed, we will go for a hike to explore Ile Alatau National Park before getting back for lunch. After that, guests are welcome to choose from a range of activities such as skating at Medeu, hiking trails or just join the party at the bar. In the evening, modern Kazakh cuisine with entertainment will be waiting for the guests at the famous Auyl Restaurant. You are also welcome to try the saunas at the hotel, which is a popular form of relaxation in Kazakh mountains.
After breakfast at your hotel in the Shymbulak–Medeu area, enjoy a guided mountain hike with stunning views of the Trans-Ili Alatau. Afterward, return for a light lunch and some leisure time before your transfer to Almaty Railway Station. Board the sleeper train to Taraz, with dinner available onboard as you travel through the southern steppe. Arriving around 1:30 AM, you’ll check in to a 5-star hotel or resort. The next day, relax and enjoy the property’s amenities such as the sauna, swimming pool, and other recreational facilities at your pace.

The journey from Almaty to Taraz is a scenic passage through the heart of southern Kazakhstan. Whether you opt for a comfortable Talgo sleeper or a slower, more authentic rail experience, this route offers a chance to unwind, take in the ever-changing landscape, and connect with locals along the way. A memorable and practical way to reach the historic city of Taraz.
Welcome to Taraz! You will be transferred from the railway station to the hotel.
Taraz is one of the oldest cities in Kazakhstan, with over 2,000 years of history as a key Silk Road trading hub. Located in the south near the Kyrgyz border, it’s known for its ancient mausoleums, archaeological sites, and rich cultural heritage. Today, Taraz blends historic charm with a relaxed urban atmosphere, offering visitors a glimpse into Central Asia’s deep past.
We will start our tour of the city from the Dautbek and Karakhan Mausoleums. You will have a guided tour of one of the oldest religious buildings of this kind on the territory of Kazakhstan. After that, you will go for lunch at a famous local restaurant, loved by the locals. Mausoleums of Aisha Bibi and Babadji Hatun will be your next stop on your city tour. Listen to the legends and tales of these holy sights told by your guide to further understand the culture that spread along the Silk Road. In the evening, there will be dinner available at the restaurant of the hotel
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the train station to travel to Shymkent. We will check-in at a 5 star hotel or guest villa and have lunch.
Shymkent is Kazakhstan’s third-largest city, located in the south near the borders with Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Known for its warm hospitality, lively bazaars, and rich cuisine, it’s a dynamic cultural and economic center with a mix of Soviet-era charm and modern growth. It also serves as a gateway to nearby natural and historical sites like Turkistan and Ugam Sairam National Park.
The tour of the city will start from the city center and move towards the Domalak Ana Mausoleum that has an incredible story behind its construction. You will have a reservation at a local restaurant to have lunch in a traditional setting with delicious meals. We will continue our tour to the old and new mosques of the city. Both visits will showcase the diverse architecture that the city inhibits. Dinner is served at the villa or hotel upon your return from the city tour.
Ugam Sairam is a spectacular and under‑visited alpine refuge in southern Kazakhstan—ideal for hikers, wildlife enthusiasts, and those seeking cultural depth. Its UNESCO-region status highlights its rich ecosystems and historic landscapes.
Breakfast will be served at the villa or hotel before your departure for Ugam Sairam National Park. You will be transferred to the park and we will start the hiking trail that takes you to the picturesque Sairam-Su Lakes. We will take a break on the trail for a picnic lunch. The trail offers scenic views of alpine landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and lush meadows. It’s accessible for moderate hikers and is a must-visit for its tranquility and beauty. We will continue our adventure until we reach the lakes and start heading back to the city before it gets dark. At the hotel, dinner will be served in the evening upon your return.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Shymkent and take the train to Turkistan. Then you will be dropped-off at the hotel located in Karavasaray Complex.
Turkistan is one of Kazakhstan’s oldest and most culturally significant cities, located in the southern Turkistan Region near the Syr Darya River. With a history stretching over 1,500 years, it was a major center on the Silk Road and served as the capital of the Kazakh Khanate in the 16th–18th centuries.
The ancient Silk Road atmosphere is recreated here with artisan streets, shops, restaurants, an amphitheater which blends entertainment with cultural heritage. Lunch will be served at the hotel before we begin the tour of the city.
We will start from the legendary mausoleum of Arystan Bab, a perfect starting point to set the tone of the tour. The next stop is not only a mausoleum but also functions as a tomb and mosque. Khoja Ahmed Yassawi complex is one of the most unique structures in the sufi islamic world. Award-winning restaurant Sandyq will host a dinner for your arrival with evening entertainment.
Have breakfast at the hotel before we head out to Karatau National Reserve.
Karatau Nature Reserve is Kazakhstan’s youngest strict reserve—vital for preserving endemic flora, endangered wildlife, and spectacular mountain landscapes. It has attained global conservation recognition and stands as a model of ecological recovery and scientific importance. The reserve is home to rare and endangered species of insects, birds, and animals.
For a short hike around the Karatau Mountains, we will explore the Hantagi-Tastyn Bauy ecological trail which lies in close proximity. This trail offers stunning mountain landscapes, waterfalls, and a chance to experience the region’s rich biodiversity. We will stop to have lunch in nature when we find a scenic spot. In the evening, we will return to the hotel at Karavansaray for the farewell dinner and surprise gifts that await you. The cultural tour along the Silk Road has come to an end.
